Clinical Supervision That Develops Competent, Confident Clinicians

BHTPI provides structured, curriculum-based clinical supervision programs designed to support professional development, increase clinician retention rates, strengthen clinical practice, and promote compliance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements.

LAUNCHING JANUARY 2027

Weekly Clinical Group Supervision

Two hours each week. A structured curriculum. A supportive cohort for California AMFTs, ASWs, and APCCs working toward licensure.

Standard Enrollment

$340 / month*

Per associate for four weekly, two-hour sessions ($85 per session).

Agency-Sponsored Enrollment

$300 / month*

Per associate for four sessions when one agency enrolls three or more associates ($75 per session).

*Monthly billing reflects scheduled sessions. Five-session months are $425 per associate, or $375 at the agency rate. Curriculum, learning materials, onboarding coordination, and routine supervision documentation are included. Session day, time, and first meeting date will be confirmed before enrollment.

A Curriculum That Connects Learning to Practice

Case presentations, reflective discussion, skills practice, and supervisor feedback draw on BHTPI's 48-unit, 24-month supervision curriculum. Topics include assessment and diagnosis; case conceptualization and treatment planning; evidence-based interventions; law, ethics, and mandated reporting; suicide risk assessment and safety planning; documentation and medical necessity; trauma-informed and culturally responsive care; boundaries, countertransference, professional identity, and burnout prevention; and licensure readiness.

Before You Join: Coordinate With Your Agency

  • BBS Supervision Agreement and Supervisory Plan: Complete with your BHTPI supervisor during onboarding. BBS requires completion within 60 days of beginning supervision.
  • Written Oversight Agreement, when required: Your employer and outside supervisor must sign before supervision begins, addressing responsibilities and access to clinical records. Private practice placements require additional employer arrangements.
  • Participation and experience records: Complete BHTPI enrollment, confidentiality, attendance, and agency coordination documents; maintain applicable BBS weekly logs and Experience Verification forms with your supervisor.

Cohorts include no more than eight supervisees. Two hours of qualifying group supervision equal one unit of direct supervisor contact. Additional supervision, including individual or triadic supervision, may be required based on your license pathway, work setting, and clinical hours. Eligibility, supervisor qualifications, and agency arrangements are reviewed before enrollment. Agencies must maintain immediate clinical consultation and crisis-response coverage outside scheduled sessions.
